Narshi Mehta Choro

Narshi Mehta Choro is a revered site in Junagadh, dedicated to Narsinh Mehta, the 15th-century saint-poet known as the Adi Kavi (first poet) of Gujarat.

It is believed that he spent time here in deep devotion, composing and singing bhajans (devotional songs) dedicated to Lord Krishna.

His most famous composition, "Vaishnav Jan To," later became closely associated with Mahatma Gandhi and the Indian independence movement.

The site features a peaceful open prayer hall, where devotees still gather to sing bhajans and relive the spiritual legacy of Narsinh Mehta.

The ambiance of this place exudes devotion, simplicity, and a deep connection to Gujarati literature and Bhakti tradition.

Visitors can experience the tranquil atmosphere, admire the modest yet meaningful architecture, and learn about the saint's profound influence on Gujarati culture and spirituality.

It remains an important pilgrimage site for those who cherish poetry, music, and religious harmony.
